​At Four Directions Educational Consulting Services (4DECS), we recognize the critical need for culturally responsive school counseling practices tailored to Native American students.
Founded in 2021, our mission is to empower schools, educators, and counselors with tools and strategies that honor the unique strengths and traditions of Native communities.
Our Journey
Our journey began in 2021 with the creation of CollegeBound Journey—the first and only college planning platform designed specifically for Native American youth. As schools began adopting the platform, the demand for broader support quickly grew. By 2023, educators and districts were seeking additional services to strengthen their culturally responsive school counseling practices.

In response, Four Directions Educational Consulting Services (4DECS) expanded to offer curriculum development, professional development workshops, and guest lecturing. Today, 4DECS partners with schools and districts to advance comprehensive, culturally grounded support for Native youth throughout high school and into their postsecondary pathways.

About Kerrie Troseth, MS
As the Owner and Lead Consultant of 4DECS, Kerrie brings over 25 years of school counseling experience, with a dedicated focus on supporting Native American students. She has specialized in empowering Native American students through culturally responsive Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and college counseling strategies.

She married into an Ojibwe (White Earth) family, which has deepened her appreciation for and understanding of Native cultures and traditions.

This personal and professional insight drives her commitment to creating culturally responsive services that honor identity, foster belonging, and support student success.
